What I Did:

  • Paper prototyping

  • Designed multiple levels with gameflow (peaks and valleys) in mind

  • Block out levels with BSP for rapid testing

  • Collaborated with artists to ensure the matching theme and prevent gameplay design conflicts

  • Collaborated with designers to ensure gameplay, design and level transition matches

  • Iterated on levels regularly based on playtesting feedback

  • Gameplay balance for main character and various enemies

  • Scripted events using Unreal 4 Blueprint

  • Ship battle sequences with matinee and blueprint

  • Rapid prototype mutiple wave spawning system for enemy spawning

  • Created tutorial HUD and dynamic tutorial sequences

  • Playtesting and data gathering

About

Lightmare is a fast-paced third person action game set in a mysterious nightmarish world made with Unreal 4. The player will take the role of the main character, Miranda who has awaken in an unfamiliar world and is trying to find a way out.
